Papori Bora

Papori Bora teaches at the Centre for Women’s Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her research is at the intersection of politics, sociology, history, and feminism—on the issues of political representation, citizenship, the postcolonial nation-state, politics of race, indigeneity, ethnicity, militarization, and feminist theory. Her articles have been published in journals like the International Feminist Journal of Politics, Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies, South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies, and as book chapters. She has co-edited a book titled, Displacement and Citizenship: Histories and Memories of Exclusion (New Delhi: Tulika Books, Global Distributor: Columbia University Press 2020). She is currently working on a book on the question of postcolonial citizenship in India’s Northeast.
