Friends and comrades,

We are united here again today at a moment of urgency and reckoning after the unprecedented July 2024 uprising. Our demand is for a democratic and just Bangladesh, where dignity and rights of all people will be based on the shared values ​​of non-discrimination and equality. We welcome you all in this journey towards equality and justice.

With us today are relatives of those injured and killed in the July uprising, human rights activists, professionals, artists, garment workers, tea plantation workers, sex workers, disability rights activists, Hijra, transgender, gender diverse and other marginalized communities, young women and men, students, people from Indigenous communities, non-Bengalis and many more. Together they represent a Bangladesh, alive with the dream of equality, freedom, justice, diversity, and tolerance. Today we stand with these same aspirations, which were at the heart of the July uprising and a long history of women’s movements in this country.

In Bengal’s long historical trajectory, we have witnessed anti-colonial struggles against British imperialism, Tebhaga and Tonk movements, the Nankar rebellion, the language movement of 1952, the liberation war of 1971, the mass uprising of 1990, Phulbari and Kansat movements, anti-rape movement, movement to protect the Sundarbans, the road safety and anti-VAT movements, where all of us including women participated bravely.

But we note with concern in this post-uprising period that existing patriarchal structures and reactionary forces continue to create obstacles in the path towards progress for women and other marginalized groups. They are also creating impediments to women’s everyday existence. Personal attacks, obstructions to decision-making, online harassment to discourage women’s participation in the political sphere are as clear as daylight. Sudden attacks against women across the country, obstruction of movement, orchestrated mob attacks, moral policing, sexual harassment, rape and gang-rape, public beatings, and many other threats have continued.

The Women’s Affairs Reform Commission was formed recently as an initiative to reform women’s rights related issues. Its remit is similar to the other reform commissions formed by the government to provide sector-wise reform recommendations. The commission has made 433 recommendations to improve the conditions of wage earning and working women, marginalized and economically disadvantaged women. Like other commissions, some of its recommendations could be subjected to debates and discussions. But since its publication, we have noticed deliberate propaganda and misrepresentation to dismiss the report in whole, to intentionally evade the most pressing and fundamental rights related issues and recommendations, leaving no opportunity for constructive discussion and criticism. A campaign of misinformation and disinformation is afoot to mislead the people. Commission members have been publicly targeted and smeared.

Yet an interim government formed in the wake of sacrifices of countless women and the blood of martyrs is astonishingly silent against the constant stream of oppression, vilification, and defamation of women. The government has not taken any meaningful action even after odious attacks against members of the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission, a body initiated by this government itself.

We have seen attempts to undermine and dismiss demands for equality in the crudest way possible, to portray aspirations of justice and dignity as invalid, to turn hopes for a democratic society into a tool for majoritarian rule and control. We want to say unequivocally — to obstruct, distort, threaten, malign the will for a just struggle where structural discrimination and violence exist is to only prove the necessity of that struggle. Once again it establishes the integrity and fairness of our cause.

Friends,

There is still no state recognition of women working in agriculture and fishing and for domestic workers. Still women earn less than men for the same job. Dalit, Harijan, and Indigenous women are victims of discrimination and oppression based on ethnicity and caste. The military is responsible for unspeakable torture of Indigenous women in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. As we gather today to demand our rights, several Bawm women remain unjustly imprisoned. Ninety-six percent of women in Bangladesh are still deprived of land ownership. Bangladesh is at the top of child marriage rankings in Asia. Bangladesh ranks fourth in the world in cases of intimate partner violence; many of them are victims of marital rape. Ninety-seven percent of serious crimes like rape, gang rape, murder after rape, dowry related murders, abetment to suicide, and sexual assaults remain without any judicial or institutional intervention. In the absence of a uniform family code and because of institutional complications, women are often denied their right to property and the custody of children after divorce and separation. Sex workers still do not get their rightful protection as citizens. There is still no recognition of gender diverse communities. Women migrant workers frequently return as corpses. Our collective struggle is against these structural discriminations and oppression; our goal is the establishment of equality and human rights.

Our culture, history, and religion are not simple nor homogenous. The rights, dignity, and just and rightful place of women and other marginalized groups in society cannot be denied in the name of national unity. We want to remind everyone that from land rights of farmers to climate justice — every issue is a women’s issue and women’s rights are central to a just society. We cannot ensure dignity and justice for all by denying them from the most deprived. We want to remind the interim government and any future government — that political, personal and economic freedom of women, workers, ethnic, religious, linguistic minorities, Hijra and gender diverse communities is not, cannot be conditional. Threatening these fundamental rights is directly against the spirit of the July uprising, the notion of insaaf, and contrary to more than half a century of women’s movements in Bangladesh.

Comrades,

Our fight is for fair wages for workers, their right to rest and holidays, safe working conditions, right to organize and unionize. We are fighting for land rights for women; we want their full recognition as farmers. We want rights to education, healthcare, and housing. We want sexual and reproductive autonomy and rights, right to privacy, the right to participate in the political, judicial, administrative processes of the state without fear; the right of oppressed women to a dignified life, to due judicial process, to social safety. Our aim is to establish women’s right to property and their self-determination in every sense. We are fighting for the rights of the dis- and differently-abled and all other marginalized people in our country. Our struggle is against environmental destruction, against injustice, against the contraction of democratic rights of the people.

The report from the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission foregrounds many of these basic principles and the vulgar attacks and orchestrated campaign to abolish it are alarming. At the same time, the interim government’s inaction, silence, refusal to defend its commission members from attacks gives us a clear message that even the most basic demands for our collective rights will be met with intimidation and threats.

We have noticed that a politics of hatred, threats, mob violence are continuing unimpeded. There are attempts to suppress our just demands. We want to know, who is this government eager to appease? That section of society which champions majoritarian chauvinism to trample on the vulnerable and cowers at the possibility of a just, equitable society for all? Those who want to preserve an unequal status quo in the name of a farcical democracy and reform? We won’t let that happen.

We know —  that rights are not given but taken and we will not be intimidated.

We demand —

The interim government must fulfill its constitutional responsibilities, especially in addressing direct threats of violence against women and marginalized communities, organized and orchestrated smear and disinformation campaigns against the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission report, and the weaponization of religious values to create an atmosphere of fear and terror and to infringe on our autonomy.

Those seeking our support — whether through electioneering or promises of reform — must clearly articulate their positions regarding the rights of women, workers, people from ethnic, religious, linguistic, and gender minorities and their full political, economic, and personal emancipation. In particular, the political parties must nominate at least 33 percent (proportionate to the population) women candidates in the upcoming elections.

The interim government should adopt immediate measures for educational, health, social, and economic empowerment of women and marginalized communities.

We will not tolerate attempts to perpetuate violence and discrimination against us. We will resist attempts to create confusion and diversion, to deny our basic rights, to deploy and weaponize culture and religion as a tool for oppression, to concoct an ahistorical narrow-minded tradition to perpetuate violence and discrimination. Our traditions, cultures, and religions are much more complex, diverse, sensitive than that. And we will not let a select few determine, interpret, impose them on everyone by force ignoring that diversity or allow their parochial interpretations to become universal. We will not let anyone create a conflict between rights and religion and equivocate on the question of our rights and dignity. We shall monitor the government and every political party on their stance on women’s issues. We will shatter the power structures which keep these oppressions and despotism alive.

We will not be bullied into silence, nor bow to threats. We will persist in demanding our rights. We will not give up on our dream and fight for an equitable Bangladesh for all.

বন্ধু ও সহযোদ্ধাগণ,

চব্বিশের অভূতপূর্ব জুলাই গণঅভ্যুত্থানের পরে আজ আমরা এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ও জরুরি মুহূর্তে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়েছি। আমাদের দাবি, একটি গণতান্ত্রিক ও  ন্যায়ভিত্তিক বাংলাদেশ, যেখানে সকল মানুষের মর্যাদা ও অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবে বৈষম্যবিরোধিতা ও সাম্যের যৌথ মূল্যবোধের ওপর। সমতা ও ন্যায্যতার পথে এ মৈত্রীযাত্রায় আমরা সবাইকে স্বাগত জানাই।

আজ আমাদের সঙ্গে রয়েছেন জুলাই অভ্যুত্থানে আহত ও নিহতদের স্বজন, মানবাধিকারকর্মী, পেশাজীবী, শিল্পী, গার্মেন্টস শ্রমিক, চা-বাগানের শ্রমিক, যৌনকর্মী, প্রতিবন্ধী অধিকারকর্মী, হিজড়া, লিঙ্গীয় বৈচিত্র্যময় ও অন্যান্য প্রান্তিক সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষ, তরুণী ও তরুণেরা, শিক্ষার্থী, আদিবাসী, অবাঙালি এবং আরও অনেকে। এ মানুষগুলিই আজকের বাংলাদেশের প্রতিনিধি, যারা সাম্য, স্বাধীনতা, ন্যায়বিচার, বৈচিত্র্যময়তা ও সহনশীলতার আকাঙ্ক্ষায় উজ্জীবিত। আজকে আমরা দাঁড়িয়েছি এ আকাঙ্ক্ষাগুলো নিয়েই — যেগুলো ছিল দীর্ঘ নারী আন্দোলন ও জুলাই অভ্যুত্থানের লড়াইয়ের কেন্দ্রে।

বাংলার ইতিহাসের পরিক্রমায় আমরা দেখে এসেছি ব্রিটিশবিরোধী আন্দোলন, তেভাগা, টঙ্ক, নানকার থেকে শুরু করে ৫২-র ভাষা আন্দোলন, ৭১-এর মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, ৯০-এর গণঅভ্যুত্থান, ফুলবাড়ি ও কানসাট আন্দোলন, ধর্ষণবিরোধী আন্দোলন, সুন্দরবন রক্ষার আন্দোলন, নিরাপদ সড়ক আন্দোলন, ভ্যাট বিরোধী আন্দোলনে নারী সহ আমাদের সকলের সাহসী ভূমিকা।

কিন্তু আমরা উদ্বেগের সাথে লক্ষ করছি যে, অভ্যুত্থান-পরবর্তী সময়েও নারীসহ অন্যান্য প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর এ অগ্রযাত্রায় নানান প্রতিবন্ধকতা সৃষ্টি করে চলেছে প্রতিক্রিয়াশীল গোষ্ঠী ও পিতৃতান্ত্রিক সমাজব্যবস্থা। নারীর স্বাভাবিক জীবনযাত্রার ক্ষেত্রেও তারা বাধা তৈরি করছে। ব্যক্তিগত আক্রমণ, সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণে বাধা, এবং অনলাইনে হয়রানি করে রাজনৈতিক পরিসরে নারীর অংশগ্রহণ নিরুৎসাহিত করার তৎপরতা দিবালোকের মতো স্পষ্ট। বিভিন্ন স্থানে অতর্কিত হামলা, আন্দোলনে বাধা, পরিকল্পিত মব-আক্রমণ, মোরাল পুলিশিং, যৌন নিপীড়ন, ধর্ষণ ও সংঘবদ্ধ ধর্ষণ, প্রকাশ্যে মারধর, এবং নানান ধরণের হুমকি প্রদান অব্যাহত রয়েছে।

সম্প্রতি নারী অধিকার সংক্রান্ত সংস্কার-উদ্যোগের অংশ হিসেবে নারী বিষয়ক সংস্কার কমিশন গঠন করা হয়। বিভিন্ন খাতে সংস্কারের উদ্দেশ্যে সরকার-কর্তৃক গঠিত অন্যান্য কমিশনের মতোই এ কমিশনটি গঠিত হয়েছিল। এ কমিশন শ্রমজীবী নারী, প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর নারী ও অর্থনৈতিকভাবে পশ্চাৎপদ নারীর জীবনমান উন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে ৪৩৩টি  সুপারিশ পেশ করে।  অন্যান্য সব কমিশনের মতোই এ কমিশনের সুপারিশেও ছিল নানা আলোচনা-সমালোচনার উপাদান। কিন্তু আমরা দেখেছি রিপোর্ট প্রকাশের পর থেকেই অধিকাংশ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ও মৌলিক অধিকার সংক্রান্ত সুপারিশগুলোকে ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবে এড়িয়ে গিয়ে এবং গঠনমূলক আলোচনা-সমালোচনার সুযোগ না রেখে নানাধরনের অপপ্রচার চালানো হচ্ছে। দেশবাসীর সামনে উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিতভাবে ভ্রান্ত ব্যাখ্যা  উপস্থাপন করা হচ্ছে। জনসম্মুখে কমিশনের সদস্যদেরকে জঘন্যভাবে অবমাননা করা হয়েছে।

এতকিছুর মধ্যে আমরা দেখলাম, জুলাইয়ে অসংখ্য নারীর আত্মত্যাগ ও শহীদদের রক্তের উপর দাঁড়িয়ে গঠিত অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার নারীর ওপর অব্যাহত নিপীড়ন, অবমাননা ও অপমানের বিরুদ্ধে আশ্চর্যরকম নিশ্চুপ। সরকারের নিজের তৈরি করা নারী বিষয়ক সংস্কার কমিশনের সদস্যদের ওপর এ ধরনের ন্যাক্কারজনক আক্রমণের পরেও সরকার কোনো ব্যবস্থা নেয়নি।

আমরা দেখছি সমতার দাবিকে অবমূল্যায়ন করে, মর্যাদা ও ন্যায়বিচারের আকাঙ্ক্ষাকে অগ্রাহ্য করে, গণতন্ত্রের স্বপ্নকে সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠের কর্তৃত্ব ও নিয়ন্ত্রণের অস্ত্র বানানোর চেষ্টা চলছে। আমরা দ্ব্যর্থহীনভাবে বলতে চাই — যেখানে কাঠামোগত বৈষম্য ও সহিংসতা বিদ্যমান, সেখানে ন্যায়ের সংগ্রামকে বাধাগ্রস্ত করা, হুমকি প্রদান করা বা বিকৃতভাবে উপস্থাপন করা আদতে সেই সংগ্রামের জরুরতকেই প্রমাণ করে। এটা আমাদের দাবির সততা ও ন্যায্যতাকেই পুনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠিত করছে।

বন্ধুগণ,

এখনও এ দেশে কৃষি, মৎস্যজীবী ও গৃহকর্ম পেশায় নারীদের রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বীকৃতি নেই। এখনো একই কাজে নারীরা পুরুষের চেয়ে কম মজুরি পান। দলিত, হরিজন  ও আদিবাসী নারীরা জাতিগত নিপীড়নের শিকার হন। পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রামে নারীদের ওপর চলে সেনাবাহিনীর অকথ্য নির্যাতন। আজকে যখন অধিকারের দাবিতে আমরা সমবেত হয়েছি, তখন বম নারীরা কারাগারে বন্দি। বাংলাদেশের শতকরা ৯৬ ভাগ নারী আজও ভূমির মালিকানা থেকে বঞ্চিত। এশিয়ায় বাল্যবিবাহের শীর্ষে রয়েছে বাংলাদেশ। স্বামী বা সঙ্গীর হাতে নারী নির্যাতনের ঘটনায় বাংলাদেশ বিশ্বে চতুর্থ; প্রতিনিয়ত নারীরা বৈবাহিক ধর্ষণের শিকার হচ্ছেন। ধর্ষণ, সংঘবদ্ধ ধর্ষণ, ধর্ষণের পরে হত্যা, যৌতুকের জন্য হত্যা, আত্মহত্যায় প্ররোচনা আর যৌন নিপীড়নের মতো গুরুতর অপরাধের মামলায় ৯৭ শতাংশ ক্ষেত্রেই কোনো বিচার হয় না। অভিন্ন পারিবারিক আইন না থাকায় এবং প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক ত্রুটি বা জটিলতার কারণে সম্পত্তি, বিবাহবিচ্ছেদ ও বিচ্ছেদের পর সন্তানের অভিভাবকত্ব পাবার অধিকার থেকে বহু নারী বঞ্চিত। এখনো যৌনকর্মীদের নাগরিক সুরক্ষা নেই। এখনো লিঙ্গীয় বৈচিত্র্যের মানুষদের স্বীকৃতি নেই। অহরহই প্রবাসী নারীশ্রমিক দেশে ফিরেছে লাশ হয়ে। এ সকল কাঠামোগত বৈষম্যের বিরুদ্ধেই আমাদের সংঘবদ্ধ লড়াই, আমাদের লক্ষ্য সাম্য ও মানবাধিকার  প্রতিষ্ঠা।

আমাদের সংস্কৃতি, ইতিহাস, ধর্ম কোনোটাই সরল নয়, সমরূপী নয়। জাতীয় ঐক্যের দোহাই দিয়ে নারী বা অন্য কোনো প্রান্তিক গোষ্ঠীর অধিকার, মর্যাদা ও সমাজে ন্যায্য অবস্থানের দাবিকে অস্বীকার করা যাবে না। আমরা মনে করিয়ে দিতে চাই কৃষকের ভূমির অধিকার থেকে শুরু করে পরিবেশগত ন্যায্যতা — প্রতিটিই নারী-সংক্রান্ত বিষয় এবং নারীর অধিকার একটি ন্যায়ভিত্তিক সমাজের নির্ণায়ক। সমাজের সবচেয়ে বঞ্চিত জনগোষ্ঠীর অধিকার নিশ্চিত না করে সকলের জন্য মর্যাদা ও ন্যায়বিচার প্রতিষ্ঠিত করা যায় না। অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার ও ভবিষ্যতের যেকোনো সরকারকে আমরা মনে  করিয়ে দিতে চাই — নারী, শ্রমিক, জাতিগত, ধর্মীয়, ভাষাগত সংখ্যালঘু, হিজড়া ও লিঙ্গীয় বৈচিত্র্যপূর্ণ পরিচয়ের নাগরিকের রাজনৈতিক, ব্যক্তিগত ও অর্থনৈতিক স্বাধীনতা কোনো শর্তাধীন নয়, হতে পারে না।  এ মৌলিক বিষয়গুলোকে হুমকির মুখে রাখলে তা হবে অর্ধ শতকের নারী আন্দোলন এবং জুলাই অভ্যুত্থানের আকাঙ্ক্ষা ও ইনসাফের ধারণার পরিপন্থী।

সহযোদ্ধাগণ,

আমাদের লড়াই শ্রমিকের ন্যায্য মজুরি, ছুটির অধিকার, নিরাপদ কর্ম পরিবেশ ও সংগঠনের অধিকার নিশ্চিত করার লড়াই। আমরা লড়ছি নারীর ভূমি অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্যে; আমরা চাই কৃষক হিসেবে তার পূর্ণ স্বীকৃতি। আমরা চাই শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্যসেবা ও বাসস্থানের অধিকার। চাই যৌন ও প্রজনন ক্ষেত্রে নিজের সিদ্ধান্ত নিজে নেওয়ার অধিকার, গোপনীয়তার অধিকার, রাজনীতি ও রাষ্ট্রীয় বিচারিক প্রক্রিয়ায় নির্ভয়ে অংশ নেওয়ার অধিকার। নিপীড়িত নারীর বিচার পাওয়ার, মর্যাদাপূর্ণ জীবনযাপন ও সামাজিক নিরাপত্তার অধিকার। আমাদের লক্ষ্য সম্পত্তিতে নারীর অধিকার ও সব অর্থে আত্মনিয়ন্ত্রণের অধিকার। আমরা লড়ছি প্রতিবন্ধী ও দেশের সকল প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠার লক্ষ্যে। আমাদের লড়াই পরিবেশ ধ্বংসের বিরুদ্ধে, বিচারহীনতার বিরুদ্ধে, জনগণের গণতান্ত্রিক অধিকার খর্বের বিরুদ্ধে।

উল্লেখিত মৌলিক নীতিগুলোর অধিকাংশই নারী বিষয়ক সংস্কার কমিশন উপস্থাপন করেছে। ফলে এই কমিশন বিলুপ্ত করার উদ্দেশ্যে পরিকল্পিত এবং কুৎসিত প্রচারাভিযান অত্যন্ত উদ্বেগজনক। সেই সঙ্গে সরকার গঠিত কমিশনের সদস্যদের ওপর আক্রমণের প্রতিক্রিয়ায় সরকারের নিষ্ক্রিয়তা স্পষ্ট বার্তা দেয় যে, আমাদের সম্মিলিত অধিকারের একেবারে মৌলিক দাবিগুলোকেও ভয়ভীতি ও হুমকির মাধ্যমে দমন করা হবে।

আমরা দেখছি, ঘৃণা-বিদ্বেষের রাজনীতি, হুমকি, সংঘবদ্ধ সহিংসতা অবাধে চলছে। আমাদের ন্যায্য দাবিকে দমন করার চেষ্টা হচ্ছে। আমরা জানতে চাই, সরকার কাকে তোষণ করার চেষ্টা করছে?  সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠের যে উগ্র জাতীয়তাবাদ ও চরমপন্থা দুর্বলকে পিষে মারে এবং ন্যায়ভিত্তিক সমাজের সম্ভাবনাকে ভয় পায়, সেই অংশটিকে? গণতন্ত্র ও সংস্কারের নামে যে প্রহসন কেবল বৈষম্যমূলক ব্যবস্থাকে অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখতে চায়, তাকে? এসব আমরা চলতে দেবো না।

আমরা জানি — অধিকার চেয়ে পাওয়া যায় না, তা আদায় করতে হয়, এবং আমরা তা আদায়ে ভয় পাই না।

আমরা দাবি জানাচ্ছি—

  • অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারকে তার সাংবিধানিক দায়িত্ব পালন করতে হবে, বিশেষত নারী ও প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর বিরুদ্ধে সহিংসতার হুমকি, নারী বিষয়ক সংস্কার কমিশনের প্রতিবেদন ঘিরে গুজব ও অপপ্রচার, এবং ধর্মীয় মূল্যবোধকে অস্ত্র হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টির বিরুদ্ধে সরকারকে ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে।
  • যারা আমাদের সমর্থন চায় — নির্বাচনী অঙ্গীকারের মাধ্যমে হোক বা সংস্কারের প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়ে হোক — তাদের স্পষ্ট করতে হবে নারী, শ্রমিক, জাতিগত, ধর্মীয়, ভাষাগত ও লিঙ্গীয় সংখ্যালঘুদের অধিকার এবং এসব জনগোষ্ঠীর পূর্ণ রাজনৈতিক, অর্থনৈতিক ও ব্যক্তিগত মুক্তির বিষয়ে তাদের অবস্থান। বিশেষ করে আসন্ন নির্বাচন থেকে তাদের প্রার্থীদের অন্তত শতকরা ৩৩ ভাগ (ক্রমান্বয়ে জনসংখ্যার অনুপাতে) নারী হতে হবে।
  • নারী ও প্রান্তিক জনগণের শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য, সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক ক্ষমতায়নে অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারকে আশু পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করতে হবে।

আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে সহিংসতা ও বৈষম্য চালিয়ে যাওয়ার অপচেষ্টা আমরা মেনে নেবো না। আমাদের মৌলিক অধিকারগুলোকে অস্বীকার করার ষড়যন্ত্র আমরা প্রতিরোধ করবো। বিশৃঙ্খলা ও বিভ্রান্তি সৃষ্টির চেষ্টা, সংস্কৃতি ও ধর্মকে দমনমূলক অস্ত্রে পরিণত করার চেষ্টা আমরা প্রতিরোধ করব। ইতিহাসবিচ্ছিন্ন কূপমণ্ডুকতার মাধ্যমে সহিংসতা ও বৈষম্য চালিয়ে যাওয়ার প্রচেষ্টাকে আমরা কিছুতেই সফল হতে দেবো না। আমাদের সংস্কৃতি, ধর্ম ও ইতিহাস দারুণ বৈচিত্র্যময় এবং সংবেদনশীল। সেই বিশালতাকে উপেক্ষা করে আমরা গুটি কয়েক মানুষের সংকীর্ণ ব্যাখ্যাকে সার্বজনীন হতে দেবো না। আমরা অধিকার ও ধর্মের মধ্যে দ্বন্দ্ব তৈরি করতে দেবো না, মর্যাদা নিয়ে কোনো ধরনের দ্ব্যর্থকতা মেনে নেবো না। আমরা সরকার ও প্রতিটি রাজনৈতিক দলের নারী বিষয়ক অবস্থান নজরদারিতে রাখবো। যে ক্ষমতাকাঠামো এসব জুলুমবাজি জিইয়ে রাখে, আমরা সেই কাঠামোকে ভাঙবো।

আমরা চুপ করবো না, হুমকির মুখে নত হবো না। আমরা আমাদের অধিকার আদায়ের দাবিতে অটল থাকবো। ন্যায়ভিত্তিক বাংলাদেশের স্বপ্ন ও তা প্রতিষ্ঠার সংগ্রামে আমরা হাল ছাড়বো না।

আজ আমাদের সঙ্গে থাকার জন্য সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ। আমাদের লড়াই অব্যাহত থাকবে।
