Maddi Chan

Maddi Chan is a writer, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council–funded scholar, and PhD candidate in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University. Her creative and scholarly work is shaped by Caribbean-feminist, queer, and anticolonial epistemologies and invested in the disruptive and generative potentialities of Caribbean women’s embodied knowledge in Western medicine and science. She is a co-creator of Pedagogies of Hope, a SSHRC-funded collective of transnational scholars, activists, artists, and community-based pedagogies practitioners invested in pedagogies that transgress the boundaries of mainstream learning.
