Ariel Tourmaline

Ariel Tourmaline is starting a Master’s in Social Work in June 2026 at Smith College School for Social Work. She graduated from Smith College in May 2026 as an Ada Comstock Scholar, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sexuality, Women and Gender Studies. She has been passionate about psychology since her first psychology class in high school, which instigated a journey in understanding her own personal life experience and her interconnectedness to the world around her. Woven into her experience and understanding of psychology has been an ever-growing passion for decolonization which is rooted in her understanding and belief that all life is sacred and innately interconnected. She has carried these strong values within her her entire life, and is always finding more ways to explore them in greater depth and complexity, grounded and rooted in praxis. She believes deeply in the collective imagination and ability to create new and better worlds that center love, empathy, and collective well-being.
