Rajeshwari Nandkumar
Rajeshwari Nandkumar is an international student pursuing her PhD in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University. Her research spans postcolonial, gender and sexuality, new media, and diaspora studies. Her doctoral dissertation examines representations of sex work in post-globalization India through the lens of “carceral fantasies”—a conceptual framework she is developing to analyze the epistemic silencing of sex workers across select documentaries, narrative cinema, and memoirs. Prior to moving to Canada in 2019, Rajeshwari spent two years as a lecturer in the Department of English at St. Joseph’s College in Bangalore, India. Her writing and scholarship have been featured in The Conversation Canada, Canadian Literature, and the Global Media Journal—Canadian Edition.
