Melissa Murray-Mutch
Melissa Murray-Mutch is an actor, producer, playwright, and arts educator whose work bridges professional performance and arts-based learning. Having taught in both Canada and the United States, she uses her training and experience in theatre, film, and television to help students develop confidence, creativity, and empathy through storytelling and character creation. Her approach encourages students to step into the lives of others, exploring what it means to understand different perspectives through performance. In addition to working as a professional in theatre, film, and television, Melissa is an emerging playwright and theatre creator. Melissa is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Gritty City Theatre Company. She also created The Canadian Slavery Project, a collective dedicated to exploring and illuminating the lives of enslaved people in North America through theatrical storytelling and performance.
