Daanish Mustafa

Daanish Mustafa is a Professor in Critical Geography, at the Department of Geography, King’s College, London. His research interests have been in water resources, environmental hazards, development and critical geographies of violence and terror. He has published extensively on these topics in peer-reviewed academic journals as well as in popular publication outlets. He has in particular been interested in how social theoretical insights can contribute towards pragmatic pathways for emancipatory politics and struggles, especially in the context of access to water and vulnerability to hazards. Geographically his research has been on South Asia, but he has also undertaken funded research in Central and West Asia, Central America and the United States. He spends most of his waking hours trying to undermine the hegemony of the reader over the intent of the author.
